El cerro grande · the big hill

A warrior, a sleeping princess and two volcanoes.

The painting by our dining room tells the old legend of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. He carries her up the mountain and keeps watch, and the two of them become the volcanoes that stand over the valley of Mexico. Our name is a hill too. Come see it on the wall.

Pase,

The charro by the door has a margarita on his tray and a big grin under the sombrero. He doesn't take orders. The bar does, and it pours them by the grande, the jumbo, the pitcher and the tower.
